Magnum drill bits use special Hi-Molybdenum tool steel and feature a 135° split point for fast penetration and accurate starting without a center punch. They withstand substantially higher drilling temperatures while maintaining sharpness. Body and clearance are gold surface treated for maximum lubricity. These rill bits are heat treated at 2185° F and then nitrocarburized at 950° to be measurably harder than high-speed steel.
